LITTLE GEISHA CAN COOK
This tiny place near Kálvin Square is our absolute favorite – if you’re craving something truly authentic, this is where we come. The sushi here is not only fresh and spectacular, but somehow it always tastes like someone made it for us with lots of love. From classic rolls to special nigiri, every dish is meticulously composed: the serving is a real mini-garden experience, with carved vegetables, pickled ginger and bright colors. The ramen is also strong, and the wok Thai dishes deserve a special mention. There is also a wide selection of fish, meat and vegetarian options, so every type of sushi fan will find their favorite.

ITOSHII
Itoshii offers an all-you-can-eat sushi experience next to Nyugati Railway Station, where you can order unlimited Japanese dishes for 2.5 hours. The portions are small, so you can try endless combinations. Sushi, grilled dishes, soups and desserts are all available, and the price also includes unlimited drinks. Ordering is done using a modern, digital system, so everything runs smoothly. The English-speaking staff is friendly, and the interior is modern and cozy – it’s worth arriving here hungry.
NASO RESTAURANT
If elegant, modern Asian cuisine is what really gets you going, then Naso is the place for you. This sophisticated yet friendly restaurant combines Japanese culinary traditions with fresh, contemporary energy. The sushi and sashimi platters are eye-catching, the flavors are refined, and the ingredients are uncompromisingly fresh. Every bite here feels like it was created by Japan’s best chefs – yet it’s located in one of Budapest’s most peaceful neighborhoods, just a few minutes’ walk from Széll Kálmán Square. The atmosphere is elegant, and the dishes combine artistic precision with gastronomic passion.

NOBU BUDAPEST
Nobu is the Hungarian flagship of luxury Japanese gastronomy, dreamed up by the legendary Nobuyuki Matsuhisa. It is not just sushi, but a fine dining experience – a bold yet harmonious meeting of the flavors of South America and Japan. Miso-fried black cod or jalapeno yellowtail sashimi are real specialties, and if you want to sip authentic Hokusetsu sake with it, you can do so here. The exclusive atmosphere, quality ingredients and artistic presentation elevate sushi to a true fine dining experience.
JAPANIKA SUSHI BAR

Japanika is a modern, casual sushi bar in the heart of the city, where creative, European-style rolls are the main feature. The selection is huge: salmon, tempura, egg, seaweed or avocado variations line the plate, but the soups, salads and appetizers are also worth a try. The terrace is spacious, the service is friendly, and even though it is a chain restaurant, it still has that certain extra. It does not necessarily rely on traditional Japanese flavors, but it is perfect for those who want to eat well in a beautiful place.
TOKIO
TOKIO on Széchenyi Square is like the elegance and authenticity of a Japanese metropolis brought to Budapest. The menu covers the full spectrum of classic Japanese dishes: ramen, miso soup, wok noodles and of course sushi in abundance, while the drinks also include authentic sake and Japanese whiskies. The view of the Chain Bridge, the bowls full of fresh vegetables and the clean design all contribute to making TOKIO not just a dinner spot, but a complex experience.

SUSHI GARDEN
Sushi Garden is a little East Asian surprise on the pedestrian part of Baross Street, close to Kálvin Square. It is a family-run place where Chinese and Vietnamese flavors mix with the world of sushi. The pavilion-like layout gives the atmosphere of a street diner, while the background work takes place on the lower level – as if two worlds meet. The menu is varied, not only sushi, but also other popular Asian dishes, the portions are generous, and everything is exactly as you would expect. Simple, honest, home-style Asian cuisine – no exaggeration, no mannerisms, just tasty food.
